New section to the barfly is the pub of the week and the distinction of being the first up is The Kelburne in Glasgow Road, Paisley.

Walking past the Kelburne one day I noticed that the place was gutted and it was undergoing a major re-fit.  I recently went in it to see what it was like.  Dont know how much it cost the owner but what a transformation.  Dont get me wrong, it wasnt a bad bar before, but now its well smart.

Not only is the decor spot-on but its also a great place to catch the footie as it has a big main screen plus tv screens at each side of the lounge.

As the above pictures show theres plenty of choice where to sit if you fancy having a meal during the day although I personally haven't ate here yet.

One thing I like about this place is that it promotes local sport in Paisley.  On one wall you will find framed jerseys of both the Paisley Pirates and the beloved Buds !

Nice to see a pub done up smart AND stick to the traditional dart board although I cant play to save myself, pool is my choice of game.

It isnt the cheapest pint in town but its a friendly wee boozer and the banter is good.  I believe that theres still a karoke at the weekends but I've given all that up since one of my mates video-taped me singing one night, nearly put me off drinking as well.

I am hoping to do a weekly feature on other pubs around the town, but remember, the rogue hasnt sold out, I am not about to start plugging all my favourtie pubs, besides, my own local is a right dump.
